Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner is asking Toledo City Council to create eleven new positions at the Division of Engineering and Water Reclaimation.
Boelter considered moving Custom Deco and its 200 jobs from its location at 1343 Miami St. to Wisconsin, Mr. Finkbeiner said. The city's department of development assisted Custom Deco in packaging $1.75 million in acquisition financing, the mayor said.

TOLEDO (WTOL) - The financial spreadsheet remains in the red for the city of Toledo and the mayor says he'll soon roll out his plan on how to balance the city's books.
"We know about increased costs, where the increased costs have come have come... fuel consumption, overtime and things like that," Finkbeiner says.

That can be the only explanation for his incredibly arrogant behavior last Friday when taking a tour of the United Way building downtown. The tour which has been taken by numerous politicians has always been open to media also. The mayor however under the guise of having an "honest discussion" about the building with the architect had his spokesperson ask the press to not go on the tour.
What is he afraid of?

Local media were denied access to a tour of the United Way headquarters this afternoon after Mayor Carty Finkbeiner refused to walk through the building if members of the press accompanied him.
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said yesterday that he plans to ask the United Way of Greater Toledo to not demolish its building for at least two to three years to allow a feasible preservation solution to be found.
