Obama up 8 on McCain after debate

Obama up by 6 on McCain in Ohio

Your rating: None

(snicker) wow, 600 people in one poll, a max of 1200 in the other. Wonder how long it took to pick and choose who to "poll"?

I think American's are tired of the BS and really are listening to the candidate who will address the issues that they find important, the main ones being the economy and foreign affairs but are also realizing that two more days of Bush/McCain ain't workin' for 'em.

One issue that is important to me (along with the normal ones)is the state of the food supply which to me is a given, but how do we have all of this tainted meat, vegetables and chocolate entering into the food supply.

Another issue with me is the next Supreme Court appointments and Federal judge appointments. Another Clarence Thomas would be devastating to the American people.

Obama's clearly got the momentum---

The polls in Ohio, Florida, and Virginia fluctuate the most, but by all accounts Obama has been gaining ground since last week's debate.

Whichever ticket takes two outta three of those states wins it.

Americans not American's.

It has a somewhat liberal bent, IMO, but it focuses on the only polls that really matter...the state ones, for electoral college purposes.

And Pennsylvania can't be far behind

He might as well spend the rest of his money in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, maybe one or two others. His options are getting very limited, if the current polling numbers hold up.

Not a bad strategy...it's not unlike the strategy most people use when playing Monopoly:

If I own Kentucky Avenue, but keep circling the board and don't land on
Indiana and Illinois Avenues and can't sweep the neighborhood, I move on, concentrating on the big guns (Pacific, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania) and Park Place and Boardwalk, which will earn higher rewards...

While I might not be able to hold all the streets, I increase my chances of winning by focusing on the better performers.

To say that Obama is up AFTER the debate connotes that the debate was the reason for the shift in the polls. To be more accurate, Obama is up after media coverage of the debate, which essentially told people what to think, or even more accurately, I could say that Obama is up after the banking crisis hit the fan (and the media connected it with the current administration's economic policies) and the frenzy over bailouts became the main focus of every newscast, front-page, and talk show.

after the debate indicated Obama 'won', not that they mean anything. They don't, and carry no lasting effect.

Your media coverage comment (people being told what to think) is absurd. The prevailing opinion I heard among the many news websites I searched was that there was no 'knockout' punch thrown by either side and neither candidate did anything to help or hurt their cause.

Yes, after the initial bailout vote failed and the Dow tanked almost 800 points, the coverage focused on those events, as it should have.

Obama is (admin edit unacceptable language)

Stupid racist comment! You are definitively NOT a real American, jerk!

I may be wrong, but I did not read anything racial into that statement.

"Obama is (admin edit unacceptable language)"

I took the statement to mean "Obama is screwed" (replace screwed with a stronger 4 letter word meaning "in deep trouble")

Another poster replied "To use the N word........................."
That, to me, is obviously incorrect because the statement in question would have said "Obama is A (admin edit unacceptable language)"

Of course I am not looking for racist comments since I am not a racist. I do, however, find it curious that so many others are looking so deeply for a comment to be offended by.

UNLESS Chrismyers is the Admin who edited the comment. Did you Chris? And I tuned in late?

there was just more before it. This isn't a conspiracy.

First, I apologize for not knowing what was going on.
Second, add me to the list of people who condemn the mindless namecalling.

And finally, Chrismyers, do you record IP addresses in each post?

and you are chicken S>>T.

That is unacceptable language here. If you can't debate without saying bad words you should reconsider posting here.

to describe a presidential candidate is not only
outrageous and unacceptable but it shows the caliber of the person who wrote it. He/she is just like the people? with the sheets. Hide behind a sheet/internet name and do/say what you want regardles of the destruction that you bring. Why hide? Because you are CS and I am sure that writing those 5 words gave you a rush.

When I first saw the post my first instinct was to show the children that were in my home at that time and say, "this is how white people are." I realized that this would not be fair to the children or fair to the white people that I know that would be appalled at the post.

This type of behavior is what happens when people allow name calling and don't hold people accountable. A Real American felt that this behavior is acceptable on this blog because no one has ever stood up and stopped the racial name calling. That just gives "People Like A Real American" the courage to debase Barack Obama, by using the N word.

America is sick and that is why we need Obama and Biden to begin the healing process to make us well.

Obama/Obiden/Ohio/08

is, "Obama is just another "N." Libs if you can say this means that Obama is screwed you obviously have been blown by too many Libs.

By the time I was able to read the post, it had already been edited. I did not know that the site admin had already removed the offensive crap and I read it literally as written.

When I read it for the first time, it said "Obama is (admin edit unacceptable language)"

Apparently, the part that said "admin edit unacceptable language" was written by Chrismyers and NOT by this ignorant moron who laughingly calls himself ARealAmerican.

I mistakenly thought that the original writer, ARealAmerican, had censored himself and not the website administrator.

Here is a link to the post where Handbanana verified what had happened before ChrisMyers edited the offensive rant and I admitted my mistake then retracted my defense.

Again, I do not agree with this and now that I know what happened before I was able to read the unedited post, I retract my defense of the racist.
