CLEVELAND, Sept. 29 -- Issue 6 Ohio's Resort Casino , which was certified by
the Secretary of State by the Secretar. Issue 6 and will be on the ballot on
November 4th for Ohio voters statewide despite a last minute attempt to stop
Issue 6 by Penn National/Argosy Casino to keep Ohioans from voting on the
Issue was rejected by the Secretary of State.
"Penn National/ Argosy Casino has begun the mostly costly assault on an Issue
in the history of Ohio with estimates of upwards of $40 million."Their
advertising assault is immense with estimates of upwards of $40 million. This is
the largest attack campaign in the history of Ohio on an issue. This is one
company (Penn National/Argosy) trying to force its will on Ohio.Last week they
spent on nearly 2000 Gross Rating Points.Ads are running everywhere on tv
and radio throughout Ohio. They want to confuse Ohioans. We may be a small
company, as they assert, but that does not stop our resolve. We believe Ohioans
will see through this ruse and vote to keep the jobs, dollars, and benefits
from a $600 million resort casino that will pay the highest tax rate in Ohio.
Argosy Casino/Penn will not buy this election. They tried to do this in 2006
with Learn and Earn and they won't do this in 2008. Ohio voters are far too
smart to fall for their sham," said Dr. are running e.
"We look forward to having Issue 6, Ohio's Resort Casino on the statewide
ballot on November 4th. Ohio voters can make the choice to bring up to 5000
jobs, up to 2600 construction jobs, build a $600 million resort casino in Ohio,
bring over $200 million in revenues to all 88 counties, pay all taxes without
rebates and also pay a 30% tax on over $800 million in gambling revenue and
help revitalize Ohio's economy," said "We look forw.
"Argosy Casino/Penn National filed a protest to try to stop Ohio from gaining
a casino. Both my partner, Dr. "Argosy Casin, and I along with the Penn
National team appeared before a referee appointed by the Ohio Secretary of
State. At this hearing, Mr. , and I alo, under oath, admitted that Vote No on 6 is
funded solely by Penn National. Vote No on 6 was created and is funded by
Argosy Casino/Penn National.
Most importantly, Argosy Casino/Penn National lost on EVERY count they
alleged. A decision was made by the referee in less than 24 hours. This last
minute, desperate attempt by Penn/Argosy makes clear their intentions. They want
to deprive Ohio from 5000 jobs, 2600 construction jobs, hundreds of millions in
tax revenues (that will be shared by the population in all 88 counties) and
a $600 million casino resort," continued Mr. Lertzman.
"It is clear that they want their Argosy Casino, which grosses nearly $500
million every year to continue to drain Ohio. They take Ohio dollars and drain
our state. This selfish, greedy attempt to keep their monopoly in the
Cincinnati market is what motivates Vote No on 6. They have hired a myriad of PR
specialists, paid 'political' endorsers and consultants, a huge team of the most
expensive lawyers and are 'spreading their wealth' throughout Ohio. They
clearly want to buy this election. It was reported by "It is clear of the
Casino Gaming letter that they can spend nearly $40 million to win this election
and STOP Ohio's casino," said Mr. Lertzman.
"We want to thank the Ohio Secretary of State for her fair process to place
this issue on the ballot. It is now up to Ohio voters to learn about the
issue. We believe that once they learn about Issue 6 and how it benefits Ohio
(and not Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, etc.) they will vote
YES for Issue 6," said Dr. Pressman.

...Could the Ohio Supreme Court or U.S. Supreme Court give support to any Indian tribe that wanted to build a casino and pay no tax (also freeing this casino to pay no tax)? The answer seems to be yes. Until this issue or language is settled I will be voting against a casino in Ohio.

I have seen 2 political ads for issue 6 and they say exactly the opposite of one another. How do we find out who is lying?

"We're all riding on the Hindenburg, no sense fighting over the window seats"-Richard Jenni

Through the use of comfort and scare words/phrases, political advertisements are generally designed to appeal to emotional sides of issues. While bits and pieces of the "truth" are presented, the whole truth doesn't exist in pollitical ads.

I am so against the state's monopoly on gambling that I'm voting in favor of this casino, even though this proposal doesn't go far enough to shatter the monopoly, it merely creates a lone exception. Hopefully the first of many.

Big Jim

The people at the top of the wealth and power pyramid are DESTROYING us.

MONEY IS POWER. DON'T GIVE THE KIND OF SELFISH PEOPLE WHO SAY TO THEMSELVES...
"Hey, I think I'll dedicate myself to a money making scheme that might get me millions, or, as in the case of Nevada's Sheldon Adelson, billions! All at the expense of the American people, including families, and tax payers. Who cares, the hell with everyone else. And I can even whitewash it all, by claiming it creates jobs. That's right, I can make a fool of the American public and get rich at the same time! Isn't it great?"...
MORE POWER.

These television character villains are no role models. Greed is over rated.

Well informed American patriots are courageously trying to fight back against these manipulators. Sadly, the struggle often looks bleak on all fronts. Battles are lost on a daily basis. But gratefully, some battles are indeed won. The noble effort continues. History is not yet written.

I see Ohio issue 6 as one of these battles. Small as it may seem in the scheme of things, in times like these, every victory must me cherished.

Best Regards,
informed american patriot
